The Orange Forum was established with the objective of promoting the
dissemination of CD-R/RW drives, CD-R/RW discs and related hardware and
software products based on standards laid down in the Orange Book. The
organization is composed of 57 manufacturing companies.

CD-R is formally referred to as "Compact Disc Recordable", which means
recordable CD. Actually the CD-R can be played back with music CD players
and CD-ROM drives, like ordinary pressed CD versions.

CD-RW is formally referred to as "Compact Disc ReWritable",
which means rewritable CD. The recorded CD-RW
can be played back with the CD-ROM drives with Multi Read logo.

CD-R/RW drives are the equipments which can write (and read) CD-R and CD-RW media.
